The Mysterious Affair at Styles is the first criminal novel by British detective writer Agatha Christie. The book was written by the female writer in 1916 andfirst publishedby John Lane in the United States in October 1920. In the UK , works by publisher The Bodley Head (John Lane’s baby carriers) published the first time on 1 month 2 year 1921. As of 2008 , this is one of two Agatha Christie’s novels out of copyright in the United States (along withThe Secret Adversary ), however, in many European countries this work is still copyrighted until 2047 .
In this first detective novel, Agatha Christie introduced readers to many unique features in her writing style, which is how to build a rich, diverse character line, the cases are described in “closed rooms” and surprises kept happening from the first page to the last page. It is also the work of the detective character Hercule Poirot , one of Christie’s two most famous detective characters (along with Mrs. Marple ).
