I have read many fantasy stories myself, but I must say Mistborn is one of the most amazing and creative. If you compare a literary work as a building, Mistborn will be a completely modern house. Read it, you will never see an idea, a detail that overlaps with a fantasy work before. To make this point clearer, let’s first talk about an important aspect of fantasy novels: the magic system. Mistborn’s magical system revolved around the ability to absorb and use metals and alloys to gain special powers known collectively as Allomancy. It sounds simple, but through the author’s imagination and pen these special powers can do things you would never expect (like flying with a coin). Throughout the story, in addition to Allomancy, a number of other abilities are introduced and make the magical system of the story even more diverse and rich.
