Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a 1955 classic by American playwright Tennessee Williams. This is Williams’ most famous work, is the author’s favorite and has been adapted into a movie. “Cat” in the play’s title, is the nickname of Maggie (Maggie the Cat).
There are many versions of this play, the best of which is director Elia Kazan’s version, staged on Broadway and the first is performed in London.
